Transcultural Capacity Building Team Leader

jobscrop250ADEC currently has a vacancy for a part-time (3 days per week) Transcultural Capacity Building Team Leader based at ADEC’s Werribee Office located at 1 Watton Street in Werribee.

The Transcultural Capacity Building Team Leader will work closely with ethnic communities, local organisations and networks to develop and implement well-being initiatives. The role is to understand needs of different ethnic communities and enhance awareness and access to services.

 

The role:

  • Consultation with ethnic communities and community leaders, and ethno-specific organisations to create a dialogue around service access issues
  • Develop and implement wellbeing initiatives to strengthen the capacity of ethnic communities
  • Develop collaborative capacity building strategies
  • Provide information to assist people from ethnic communities to make informed choices about service options
  • Work closely with Capacity Building Officer and bi-lingual facilitators to further develop the Capacity Building Program
  • Develop and sustain meaningful partnerships

 

Selection Criteria:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (Community Development, Psychology, Public Health, Counselling, Social Work or related field) and/or experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community development skills and processes
  • High level ability to work effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse communities (CALD)
  • High level ability to liaise, network and maintain effective partnerships
  • Understanding of social change processes
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven leadership skills and excellent time management

 

Desirable:

  • Project management and facilitation skills and an understanding of mental health services, philosophies and trends
  • Knowledge of NDIS
  • Current Police Check and Working With Children Clearance
