CALD Carers Wellbeing – Funded by the DHHS Supporting Carers Locally Grant

This project focuses on physical and mindful activities to increase the wellbeing of carers from non-English speaking backgrounds and reduce feelings of social isolation during the coronavirus restrictions. Weekly Zoom sessions are available for carers of Afghan, Karen and Vietnamese backgrounds.

Achievements to date

  • Participation in weekly online wellbeing workshops delivered by qualified and experienced instructors, including Tai Chi/Qigong, Yoga, Mindfulness and Meditation, and Pilates
  • Opportunity for participants to socialise and meet new people
  • Language specific groups

Feedback: Participants report that the workshops have helped them to lower their stress and anxiety levels during lockdown.

Coming soon: We will soon expand the delivery of this project to additional culturally and linguistically diverse communities, so continue to watch this space!
