What is NDIS?digitalrespitepicSECOND

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new system that is being implemented across the country. It will change the way that services are funded and provided so that you have greater choice and control over the supports you receive. You will be able to plan and purchase services to meet the needs you identify.

The NDIS is being introduced in stages. It will be made available progressively across Victoria over the next three years. It is estimated that the transition to the NDIS for Victoria will be complete by July 2019. More in-depth information can be obtained from the NDIS website on the rollout planFYI - This page has been translated into 7 different languages and also has speaker function for the hearing impaired.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • have a permanent and significant disability that affects your ability to take part in everyday activities
  • be aged less than 65 when you first access the scheme
  • be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen who holds a Protected Special Category Visa

The NDIS Access Checklist can also be used to asses if you are eligible to receive assistance from the NDIS.

How do I choose ADEC as my service provider under NDIS?

ADEC has been providing exceptional disability support services for over 32 years. Although we are specialists in working with multicultural communities, under NDIS we will be sharing our knowledge with everyone who requires our support.
