About ADEC
ADEC is a state-wide Victorian not-for-profit organisation established in 1985. We advocate for and support people with disability and older people from diverse cultural backgrounds, along with their families and carers.
We provide advocacy services, NDIS Plan Management, community aged care services, direct support, and systemic advocacy to strengthen inclusive communities. With approximately 200 staff supporting around 1,700 clients, ADEC is committed to empowering people, fighting inequality, nurturing community cohesion and advocating for full inclusion.
About the Role
You’ll play a vital role in enhancing your clients’ independence, wellbeing, and connection to their communities. Every day will bring new opportunities to make a positive impact.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with personal care: showering, dressing, grooming.
- Supporting domestic tasks: cleaning, laundry, cooking, and light home maintenance.
- Providing transport to appointments, social outings, and community activities.
- Encouraging and participating in social, recreational, and cultural engagements.
- Keeping accurate records and communicating effectively with support teams.
- Advocating for clients’ rights, needs, and preferences.
What We’re Looking For
Ideal candidates will have:
- A Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care or Disability), or similar.
- At least 6 months of hands-on experience in home care, Aged Care or disability support.
- A caring, respectful, and flexible approach to client care.
- Current First Aid certification, a valid driver’s licence, and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Provisional driver’s licence or higher required.
- Australian work rights required at the time of application.
- Both Working with Children Check and Police Check required.
